Controlling artefacts, technology or different objects with our minds seems to be getting closer every day.
However, to get there we have to discover and explore the path towards hands-free technology.
Now, imagine that you can control some of your electronic devices without using your hands, but with your tongue. This is the promise of the Mouthpad^ project.
Mouthpad^ is the ‘first hands-free touchpad’, which through an adapted plate is installed in the upper part of your mouth just like you can put on a dental retianer. Relax, it does not require surgery, you can put it in or take it out whenever you want.
The device is custom-made and is controlled through the tongue with actions on the roof of the mouth. It connects via bluethoot to smatphones, tablets or laptops and you can perform different actions such as scrolling, clicking, moving the cursor, sending emails, taking pictures and even playing video games. The device is designed primarily for people with reduced mobility, but there is no restriction for other users who wish to discover the product.
If you want to purchase one, you must join a waiting list available on their official website, where they will provide you with more information regarding eligibility, pricing, customisation process, etc.
