The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 delivered multiple surprises in terms of technology and its possible uses, however, Zugu decided to go the extra mile in terms of innovation.
Zugu Case, a Netherlands-based company, captivated hundreds of attendees and online users by unveiling the new “In Case of Death” kit, which contains some pretty interesting but also bold features.
The In Case of Death kit
“Bricks your iPad when you die, so you can take your secrets to the grave”, is one of the most striking phrases of the launch, which consists of a set for the care of your iPad for today, as well as for the day of your death.Are you afraid that some of your history will be seen? Or is there private information that you don't want to be shared with anyone but you? Zugu seeks to be the solution to these problems. The kit contains an 11-inch iPad, a Smart Ring, a case and access to the app.
Ok, so what's so special about it?
Each device on its own may not generate much surprise, however, together they aim to detect the moment of your death so that your iPad 'self-destructs' (not literally).Through the Smart Ring, it will be able to detect the moment your heartbeat indicates that your heart has stopped, send a signal to your iPad and your private information contained in it will be completely deleted.
